Challenge Guidance

One of the purposes of the Challenges is for members to use the themes to inspire them to go out and take new images that fit these themes.

Only ONE image per person will be allowed for the PDI & Print challenges – (Exceptionally 2 PDIs are permitted in the Song Titles

We will be reviewing images before the competitions to ensure that they do fit the theme.
We are not intending to be overly strict, but, for example, simply providing an image with a name that fits the theme will not automatically qualify the image for the competition!

If you are unsure whether your image meets the challenge theme, you can always upload it as soon as the competition is opened and request that it is reviewed in advance of the upload deadline.

The following themes with a little clarification have been chosen for next seasons challenge competitions:

PDIs

Song titles – an image that depicts a song title  (This is the exception – 2 images allowed for each member, as the competition is run as the only competition of the evening) We will have the normal 1st run through where everyone gets a chance to guess the song title, so ones that could be guessed make it more fun!!

Mobile phone – an image that has been taken using a mobile phone. This can be processed as per normal rules (no AI please!), but the image must originate on a mobile phone.

Reflections – The main element of the image should be a reflection

Old & New – to contain both old & new elements

Speed – The image should depict speed in some way

Prints

Machines – something mechanical needs to be included as a main element

Framed – Frame your image with a manmade or natural frame (NOT an added frame in LR / PS!)

Primary Colours (Red / Blue / Yellow) – main element to show one or more primary colours

Portrait  – Portrait photography captures the essence of the person ( human), revealing their personality and emotions through a single frame

Any questions, please let Lynne know who will attempt to clarify!
