Welcome to our Club
We currently meet via Zoom bi monthly on a Wednesday from September to May, starting at 7.30 pm, usually finishing by 10.00pm. We are not hosting face to face meetings or workshops at our usual venue until further notice:

Holybourne Village Hall

Church Lane, Holybourne, GU34 4HD

Cost: Membership is 20 for September-December 2020, or 25 including entries to our PDI competitions. Usually it is 50 for the season, or 25 from January, with student membership is 25.

We are currently offering talks from international speakers on a bi-monthly basis, via Zoom, though our usual weekly meetings include a broad mix of presentations, competitions and practical evenings, and there are occasional social events, like skittles, and other trips during the season.
To allow potential members to sample our Club before committing to membership, up to three Club evenings may be attended prior to joining. A 5 fee will be levied for practical and speaker evenings; this is refundable against future membership fees paid in the same half of the season.

More about what we do
Alton Camera Club endeavours to provide a wide range of activities to let you enjoy and extend your photographic abilities.
We provide a comprehensive mixed programme of lectures, practicals, competitions and other events. Our members get plenty of opportunities to experiment and learn new techniques.
Our evenings are extremely enjoyable and helpful, both to new and experienced. We help beginners to make a start in photography and more experienced workers are always available and ready to help if advice or practical instruction is needed. If any member needs help in any aspect of photography, committee and other members will be pleased to answer questions or arrange instruction, where possible.
There are opportunities to meet nationally and internationally acclaimed photographers and discuss with them their individual and personal approaches to their art.
No matter what your skill level or whatever style of photography interests you there will be much to entertain you within the Club.
Our members are particularly encouraged to show off their work which is exhibited with fairness and equality. Appropriate and honest feedback is provided by accredited photographic judges. Competition is a key feature of club and we also compete against many other clubs in our region.
The Club offers a variety of field trips, events and social activities to our members. These have included day outings, evening walks in the summer months and short breaks to exciting phography locations. On 6 July we had a trip to the Winchester Hat Fair, where we practiced our street photography skills, portraits, and generally had a great day out. For details on our trips, see Field Trips page.
The Club has held several exhibitions of the work of members. Most recently, our members' work was exhibited at Alton's Allen Gallery. We focus our efforts on displaying the best of our work, including work from beginners through to more experienced members.
Each season culminates with our annual Presentation Evening where members' families and friends enjoy a meal, see the best work of the season and receive trophies for the most worthy achievements. This will be held via Zoom at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 9 September.
